Event Description:

Workplace violence is an emerging hazard that has presented itself nationwide. Providing a solid system, education, and prevention plans can reduce those hazards in your facility. It is essential to include a process to educate all employees on how to respond in the event of violence in the workplace for safety. This information session will provide strategies on risk, developing a plan, reporting, investigation and implementation of a zero-tolerance policy toward workplace violence.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Verbalize the importance of developing a workplace violence prevention plan
• Describe who is at risk for workplace violence
• Describe employee actions that can be taken to prevent or minimize violence in the workplace
• Don’t miss this important opportunity to enhance your ability to care for residents facing mental health challenges.
